Tai Chi (pronounced tie-chee) is an ancient Chinese discipline with the emphasis on balancing mind, body and spirit. Tai Chi is essentially a moving form of yoga and meditation combined, with slow flowing movements the emphasis.

There are a number of so-called forms which consist of a sequence of movements, many of which are derived from the martial arts.  Whilst some people focus on the combat aspect of Tai Chi, many focus more on the meditative exercise for the body.  There is a Yin and Yang aspect to each of the movements in Tai Chi.

According to Chinese philosophy, “Chi” means "vital energy" or "life force". By regularly practicing Tai Chi, it will help to balance and improve the natural flow of energy throughout the body and will enhance health and vitality.
