What are Ghosts?

spiritual reality

A ghost is the energy or personality of a person who has died and become stuck in the membrane of pure energy between the spirit realm and the physical realm.  Most researchers believe that these spirits do not know they are dead.  Often they have died in very traumatic circumstances such as murder or suicide.   Because a ghost is the ‘personality’ of the person while they were living and not the soul of that person, it is the personality traits that determine whether someone will become a ghost and for how long.

A ghost is not a natural part of the spirit realm, unlike Angels and Spirit Guides.  Ghosts exist, trapped in between two worlds, belonging to neither.

A ghost has the ability to interact to some degree with the living.  Most people become aware of ghosts by the noises they make, such as footsteps, the running of water, doors opening and closing, crashing sounds of dishes etc or by the smells they bring, such as perfume, cologne, cigars or more revolting smells such as rotten eggs.  When a ghost is present the air may become cold.  There may be a sudden gust of wind inside a room, or you may have the feeling of being touched or brushed past.  Ghost visions are the least common form of discerning a ghost.

Ghosts exist willingly, or become trapped in this zone for a number of reasons.  They may be overly attached to something or someone in the physical realm and are not willing to give it/them up, others are too emotionally traumatised by their own death to move on, some (usually nasty beings while they were living) are afraid to move on out of fear of going to hell, whilst others are still carrying enormous anger over incidents while they were living.  Then there are the ones that become ghosts willingly because they enjoy frightening others (mischievous ghosts), some become ghosts briefly to ensure their families know they have crossed over safely, whilst others believe they have some important task to do before they move on.  The reason behind why they became ghosts determines how long they exist or are trapped in this zone.  Some stay ghosts for centuries while others exist briefly in this form.

Many ghosts move on willingly when they decide they are ready, while others seek permission or assistance from humans or spirit entities on the other side to show them the way.  Free will determines whether they stay or go, yet eventually they all decide to move on.

Ghosts live in a spatial dimension meaning they are still aware of space and time.  They, like the rest of us in the physical realm, can only be in one place at a time, unlike other spirit beings that are not limited by space and time.  This is why hauntings are found in one area, such as a haunted house, or hotel etc.

Ghosts may be a bit mischievous and playful, some may even be quite negative if they had this personality trait while living, but they are not believed to be harmful.
